In The Fashionista's Closet: The Accidental Outfit

I wanted to wear this top but couldn't find work-worthy bottoms.

In frustration I tried this skirt on in the hopes of creating an outfit around it instead.

But then I realized that I liked the two pieces together.

The school counselor said that I looked like Minnie Mouse.

  I didn't mind that comparison.

I never thought that I would say this but I need flats.

Shut.up.

Yes, me. Flats. I saw these recently at Marshalls but they didn't have my size. Anyone know of any cute, fashionable and semi-cheap flat options? I don't want to pay a lot for them because they're...well, flats.

The search is on....

Pin It On Me!

Sorry for the lack of posts but I have been feeling under the weather but I wanted to tide you over with a few of my favorite pins from Pinterest. I LOVES me some Pinterest. I have saved images of fashion inspirations/DIY ideas/vision board ideas for years now and Pinterest has given me the opportunity to save everything that I love in one place! What I don't get: People who pin photos of money and themselves...you don't know what money looks like? Or yourself?  Anyway, enjoy!:

P.S. Happy 41st Birthday, Ms. Badu!

In The Fashionista's Closet: Thelma 2.0

I felt like Thelma from Good Times in my jacket. Which is a compliment to me.

Scarf (around hair): H&M
Men's Shirt: Thrifted
Jeans: H&M
Bag: Kooba
Boots: From a clothes swap
I imagine her wearing this on her way to dance class or to one of her many dates. Y'all know Thelma was engaged twice before she married Keith right?

Or maybe she wore this when they were protesting the college cafeteria and she met Ibe (just realized that it was spelled Ibe and not Ebay, lol) and got her hair braided up.

But I'd like to think that she was wearing this jacket when she met Keith, maybe walking from the bus stop or at the boutique. He would think "I gotta meet that girl in that far out jacket, she is one foxy lady!"

But no matter who wore it, I'm glad they gave it up so that I could be a happy little thrifter when I spied it at the thrift store. So thank you.

But I still think it's Thelma's.....

In The Fashionista's Closet: A Nightmare on Facebook

I'm obsessed with stripes. Like, for reals. If I see striped anything, I want it.

Like this sweater. Which reminds me of Freddy Krueger. He was a killer but no one ever said that he wasn't stylish.

I am taking a break from Facebook. Because I wanted to post the following status update:

"There is such a thing as oversharing. I don't want to know that you are on antidepressants and I haven't spoken to you since high school. That's a little bit too much information for me since I can't remember what you even looked like in high school."

Not to mention the chick who posted photos of her and her husband in bed and he looked like he was asleep and she was looking into the camera! You can't just enjoy being with your boo, we gotta put it on Facebook?

I mean, who is that really for? The "extra-ness"?

DoingTheMost.com

.
Or the people who air their dirty laundry on Facebook. I don't want to know that you and your man are fighting because you found out he was not-so-secretly seeing someone else. But the next week you post "(tagged person's name) is the love of my life. I love you, Binky!" That's what your girlfriends are supposed to be for. Unless you don't have any "in real life" friends. So then that is another problem you might need to address.

Just not on Facebook...

Bracelets: Forever 21
Sweater: Zara
Skirt: Asos
Boots: Juicy Couture

I just want to see a couple pics, poke a lil fun and log off. Is that too much to ask?

Four Eyes

Finally got my new specs. I love'em.  Ray Ban RB 5199 in case you're interested. But now I want the brown ones as well......
(Sweater from h&m)

The following exchange really happened. No lie.

Teacher: We are going to finish watching the video on Asia that we started yesterday.
Student: Who is Asia?
Teacher: What do you mean, who is Asia?
Student: Oooooooooohhhhh I thought you meant a person. I wasn't here yesterday so I didn't know that you meant Asia the state.

*drops the mic and walks away*
