The ultimate stripper shoe!

Remember Chris Rock's jokes about the strippers with the clear heels? Well I was looking for some shoes at Zappo's and came across these and thought that they were so HILARIOUS! The ultimate in stripper shoes and no need for pockets or purses, you can just put your money in your shoe! Reminds me of Fly Guy from "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!"

2007 Academy Awards

For those who missed Jennifer Hudson snag best Supporting Actress for "Dreamgirls" here's a recap of the fashions of the night:

Best Dressed:
I thought Cameron Diaz's dress was beautiful, Queen Latifah looked wonderful and Helen Mirren (who also won Best Leading Actress) was my personal Best Dressed. I thought that she looked elegant and striking in her Christian LaCroix gown.

Worst Dressed:
I didn't like Kirsten Dunst's busy shredded wheat looking dress at all and even though she won Best Suporting Actress, Jennifer Hudson lost in the fashion category. Her dress looked very drab and the jacket reminded me of aluminum foil.

What do you think, who are your picks for Best and Worst dressed?

Street Style: The Sartorialist

Naturally me

Relaxed hair (Last relaxer July 05); Natural hair (March 06)(wash and go)

I have gotten a lot of emails about my hair in the photo that is posted so I wanted to give some information about natural hair. I did a lot of research on natural hair before I decided to give it a try again. (This is my second time, the first time was a disaster.) I read up on hair types, what products may work best for your hair type and hair tools as well as how to take care of your hair while transitioning (i.e. growing out the relaxer.) I transitioned for seven months, cutting some of the permed ends off gradually. (Some may opt to transition for a couple of months then do the "big chop" and cut it all off.) My biggest obstacle after cutting off the relaxer was findng the right products. I used two websites, Nappturality and Motown Girl to get style ideas, read product reviews and learn about ingredients that are beneficial to natural hair. I have not had a relaxer in a year and seven months and I will be completely chemical free for a year in March. My favorite product that I use is pure shea butter which adds sheen and moisture to my hair. The picture in the corner is a twistout with hair combs on each side. I am always willing to answer questions about natural hair, so feel free to email me or check out the websites that I provided.

In the pink

I am not sure what is going on with celebrities in their 20's, it should be too early for a mid-life crisis but who knows? Kelis, who I admire for her take no prisoners approach to fashion, debuted her new hair color during the NBA All Star Weekend: pink. Kelis, who cut off her hair during the making of her "Bossy" video, straightened it and dyed it black. She then dyed it blonde but in every picture that I saw, her hair looked dry and damaged. Well now she's decided to go the way of the pink, and I am not feeling this look at all. But knowing Kelis, this is only temporary.

Update: Bald Britney

Okay, I found a pic of Brit's bald head and I am thinking her ears will be a problem for this look. (Something you should take into consideration, but I don't think she really thought this through anyway.)

Britney's new look

Britney Spears is sporting a new look: bald. After checking in and out of a rehab facility within days, Spears went to a tattoo parlor with her head fully exposed and showed off her new noggin. I am not sure what route Spears will go next but I doubt that she will keep this look. Demi Moore and Natalie Portman went the bald route when filming movies and they both talked of how freeing it was. Isaiah Washington's wife, Jenisa totally owns the shorn look. View Spears' video here and tell me what you think.

Reunited and it feels so good......

Banana Republic and I had a falling out. I was bored with their lack of vision and for trying to "re-train" me by not marking things down as often and in the time period that they used to. So I pouted, I held my breath and when that didn't work, I ignored them. For weeks; then months. Well with Spring around the corner I thought I'd let bygones be bygones and see what was new. They have a couple of pieces that I am salivating for, but the jury is still out on "our" future.

Yea or Nay?

I had to look twice at this belt to see that it is not white with black trim like I first thought, but CLEAR! What do you think, is this a yea or a nay? Belt $68 at Arden B.

Beyonce in Sports Illustrated

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition is usually reserved for super skinny swimsuit models to show off their sexiest poses, yet the 2007 edition has Beyonce gracing its cover clad in a yellow and red bikini from her clothing line, House of Dereon. I have already read some negative things about SI choosing Beyonce for its cover instead of a "traditional model" saying that SI is not a celebrity magazine so they should have used a bikini model. So what do you think, did they make the right decision in featuring Be? Why or why not?
