New Fashion - Savvy Songtresses

These singers are a new crop of chanteuses that I wanted to profile because of their look as well as their sound.

Conya Doss is a former teacher of special needs children turned artist. She is has been classidied as neo-soul but doesn't want to define her sound because as she puts it "it narrows your audience." Her bohemian style appeals to me and her bold accessories and makeup are fierce. She is an artist who has been recognized mainly through word of mouth. Whimsy is what I think of when I think of Corinne Bailey Rae. Her ballet flats and floaty dresses match well with her voice and lyrics.
